At Positive Mind Wellness, we provide comprehensive mental health support to individuals covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) through the Community Mental Health Program (CMHP). Our goal is to help you navigate the challenges of work-related injuries and psychological distress by offering specialized assessments and evidence-based treatments that cater to your specific needs.

What is the WSIB Community Mental Health Program (CMHP)?

The WSIB CMHP allows psychologists to prioritize treating individuals and less time spent on administration. It gives people access to psychological assessments and evidence-based, outcome-focused treatment.

This program was developed collaboratively by the WSIB and the Ontario Psychological Association to deliver mental health services in a more structured approach.

Our WSIB CMHP Process

The CMHP is designed for WSIB claims requiring psychological services including traumatic mental stress, psychological response secondary to physical injury, first responder PTSD, and chronic mental stress. The program is divided into three phases that include:

This includes a brief intake for review of basic information/confirm need for assessment and treatment.

A psychologist of ours will gather history and conduct testing, functional status, diagnosis, treatment planning, RTW planning-formulation, documentation, worker feedback, informed consent. Within 5 days of assessment, we will submit your assessment form.

There are three blocks that contain six sessions and up to eight weeks each. Within these treatment blocks, we implement evidence-informed oriented goals, integrate RTW and recovery, and provide ongoing evaluation and treatment modification on a per patient scenario.

Our Approach as a WSIB Speciality Clinic

We provide injured workers with access to high-quality mental health services in our specialized assessments within the Community Mental Health Program.

This program ensures that individuals who have experiences work-related injuries or illnesses receive the psychological support they need to recover and return to a healthy and productive life.

Our WSIB CMHP Services

Our experienced team of WSIB psychologists and mental health professionals conducts thorough psychological assessments to understand your mental health status and the impact of your work-related injury. These assessments include:

Clinical Interviews

During the initial intake interview, a clinician will discuss confidentiality, privacy, and access to information. You’ll have the opportunity to freely express your concerns, followed by a comprehensive review of your background information including developmental, family, medical, and educational history to help understand your current psychological state. We will provide paperwork during this time that must be completed prior to the testing appointment.

Standardized Testing

Use of validated psychological tests and questionnaires to evaluate symptoms, cognitive functions, and emotional well-being. After each testing session, data are scored and analyzed.

Diagnostic Evaluation

Accurate diagnosis of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and other work-related psychological issues are shared, any findings are explained, and scores are presented and discussed. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, provide input, and discuss recommendations. We can also write referrals and arrange for additional professional assistance if needed and desired.
